FDA: Adding children to vaccine program means 12M-14M more people

The Philippines will need to vaccinate an additional 12 to 14 million people if it includes children aged 12 to 17 in its vaccination program, according to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

The FDA has approved Pfizer-BioNTech for use on individuals aged 12 to 17, while Sinovac is seeking approval for ages 3 to 17.

Vaccine czar Carlito Galvez Jr. stated that vaccination of this age group may begin by the end of September or October, contingent upon vaccine supply.
