Vaccination coverage silver lining amid rising COVID cases

The silver lining amid rising COVID-19 cases and the emergence of the Omicron variant is the wide vaccination coverage in the Philippines.

According to Vince Dizon, Presidential Adviser on Covid-19 response, hospitals are not getting overwhelmed as quickly compared to previous surges like Delta last August and September.

Dizon noted that while there was a record 28,000 new COVID-19 cases recorded on January 9th, the availability of vaccines has prevented severe symptoms, hospitalization, and even death.
