UST extends volleyball win streak to four, beats UP 3-1 in UAAP

University of Santo Tomas (UST) extended its winning streak to four matches by defeating the University of the Philippines in the UAAP Season 87 women's volleyball tournament on Wednesday at the Mall of Asia Arena.

UST secured victory with scores of 25-11, 25-23, 23-25, and 25-12, overcoming a third-set hiccup where UP had an 11-18 edge but regaining control in the fourth set.

Regina Jurado led UST with 22 points, including eight excellent digs, while Angge Poyos contributed 20 points.

Assistant coach Yani Fernandez noted that errors piled up during the third set and emphasized the importance of maintaining their own tempo to improve performance.

UST now aims for a fifth straight victory against Ateneo while UP faces another strong team to weather their current losing streak.
