UST secures second seed in UAAP women's basketball

University of Santo Tomas secured the second seed in the UAAP Season 87 women's basketball tournament with a dominant 60-47 victory over Adamson University on Saturday.

The win improves UST's record to 11-2, guaranteeing them a twice-to-beat advantage in the Final Four if National University does not complete a sweep of the elimination round.

UST coach Haydee Ong highlighted the team's defensive efforts, limiting Adamson to just 47 points despite inconsistent play throughout the game.

Tacky Tacatac led UST with 13 points and four three-pointers, while Brigette Santos contributed 10 points, seven rebounds, three assists, and two steals.

The Growling Tigresses outrebounded the Lady Falcons by 22 boards (57-35) and will face De La Salle University in their final regular-season game next Saturday.
