UST loses to NU, faces La Salle for semis edge

UST Golden Tigresses lost to National University in a grueling five-set match on Sunday, April 27, denying them a direct route to a twice-to-beat semis edge.

La Salle will face UST for the second seed and the coveted twice-to-beat advantage on Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.

National University finished its elimination round campaign as the top seed with an undefeated record of 12-2, while FEU secured the fourth seed due to having an inferior set ratio against La Salle and UST.

Despite their perfect finish, National University remains focused on improving their game in preparation for the semifinals.

Bella Belen led National University with 26 points, helping them secure a fifth straight victory over UST and setting up the crucial playoff match on April 30.

UST and La Salle will compete for the second seed in Wednesday's playoff match at the Mall of Asia Arena, where the winner will earn the twice-to-beat advantage in the semifinals.
