UST loses to NU, ends four-game win streak

UST Golden Tigresses lost to National University in a grueling five-set match on Sunday, April 27, denying them a direct route to a twice-to-beat semis edge.

La Salle will face UST for the second seed and the coveted twice-to-beat advantage on Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Araneta Coliseum, not the SM Mall of Asia Arena as previously stated.

National University finished its elimination round campaign as the top seed with an undefeated record of 12-2, while FEU secured the fourth seed due to having an inferior set ratio against La Salle and UST.

UST's four-game winning streak was snapped with this loss, leaving them tied at 9-5 with La Salle for second to third spots in the standings.

Bella Belen led National University with 26 points, helping them secure a fifth straight victory over UST and setting up the crucial playoff match on April 30.
