Pro coach Meneses leads NU Lady Bulldogs to UAAP finals

Pro volleyball mentor Sherwin Meneses aims to replicate his success from the professional league as he leads National University (NU) Lady Bulldogs to their first UAAP finals appearance under his leadership.

Despite joining NU's program late last year, Meneses guided the team to a top-seed finish with a 12-2 record and secured a fourth consecutive final appearance after defeating Far Eastern University in the Final Four.

Meneses acknowledges that coaching at the collegiate level presents unique challenges such as balancing academics with training and playing, compared to the professional volleyball scene.

The upcoming UAAP finals will be an uphill battle for Meneses against La Salle's Ramil de Jesus, who is considered one of the greatest women's volleyball coaches in UAAP history with 12 titles and 21 final appearances over almost three decades.

Meneses remains optimistic about his chances, stating that the feeling of pressure and challenge is consistent whether he's coaching professionally or at the collegiate level.
