FEU beats De La Salle to reach UAAP men's volleyball finals

Far Eastern University (FEU) overcame a slow start to defeat De La Salle in four sets (24-26, 25-23, 25-19, 25-20), securing their spot in the finals of the UAAP Season 87 men's volleyball on Saturday, May 3.

FEU, the top-seeded team and aiming for a record 26th championship, showed resilience to reach their first finals appearance since 2019 despite a sluggish beginning.

Mikko Espartero led FEU with 17 points from attacks, while Doula Ndongala contributed 17 points including four blocks and an ace. Lirick Mendoza added 14 points for the team.

Ariel Cacao dished out 31 excellent sets to showcase FEU's balanced offense as they overcame a close first set to dominate in the latter stages of the match, securing their spot against either UST or NU in the finals on Wednesday, May 7.

FEU head coach Eddieson Orcullo expressed satisfaction and emphasized the importance of balancing preparation for the upcoming final match.
