UST edges FEU 4-2, climbs to third in UAAP men's football

University of Santo Tomas secured a thrilling 4-2 victory over Far Eastern University in the UAAP Season 87 men's football tournament Thursday night at UP Football Stadium.

Archie Belluga scored the decisive goal from the penalty spot, putting UST ahead 3-2 after Richard Songalia won a penalty, while rookie Kristien Elopre added another goal deep in stoppage time to seal the win for UST.

UST now shares third place with FEU at nine points but leads on goal difference, ahead of joint fourth placers De La Salle and University of the East, both at seven points.

FEU's Mel Baylon was given a straight red card in the final possession for hitting John Selarde, while Karl Absalon scored an equalizer for FEU in the 52nd minute after missing his second straight match due to injury.

The Tamaraws will face University of the Philippines in their next match on Sunday, while UST plays league leader Ateneo de Manila University.
