UST wins Pinoyliga Global Invitational Cup 80-71

University of Santo Tomas (UST) secured its victory over the University of the East Red Warriors with a score of 80-71 on Sunday, March 30, at the Enderun Colleges Gym in Taguig City.

Forthsky Padrigao led UST as Finals Most Valuable Player, scoring 21 points along with four assists and a steal, while Nic Cabanero contributed 17 points, five rebounds, and two assists.

UST coach Pido Jarencio expressed satisfaction with his team's performance in their first tournament of the year following their appearance in the Final Four of UAAP Season 87.

In addition to UST and UE, other participants included Nagoya Gakuin University from Japan and the US-based Fil-Am Nation Select, as well as Emilio Aguinaldo College, making this the inaugural competition of Pinoyliga's Global Invitational Cup.

UE finished second overall with a 3-1 record in the elimination round despite a recent coaching change.
