UST Tiger Cubs win first UAAP boys' basketball title since 2001

University of Santo Tomas (UST) Tiger Cubs clinched their first UAAP boys' basketball championship in over two decades by defeating National University-Nazareth School (NUNS) on Thursday, March 27.

The team secured a 'golden double' after the girls team won last week and now holds 12 overall titles in boys basketball, with their last title dating back to Season 64 in 2001.

Racine Kane was named Finals MVP for his outstanding performance of 28 points and 17 rebounds.

UST overcame a 17-point deficit to win in overtime, marking their first championship since Season 64 in 2001.

The Tiger Cubs led by as many as 17 points before NUNS powered through in the fourth period, forcing an overtime where UST secured the victory with a final score of 83-77.
