Kennedy Batas crowned Season 87 men's volleyball MVP

University of the Philippines' 23-year-old Blue Eagles star Kennedy Batas has been crowned as the Season 87 men's volleyball Most Valuable Player (MVP), outperforming four other contenders.

Batas secured the MVP title with a total of 79.815 statistical points, narrowly edging out Noel Kampton from De La Salle University who had 74.906 SP.

In addition to scoring 263 markers after the elimination round, Batas ranked fourth in spiking and aces while also placing fifth in reception and eighth in digging.

Batas expressed his intention to return stronger next season, stating that he has 'unfinished business' to settle and aims to continue competing in the UAAP despite Ateneo failing to make the postseason for the third straight year with a 7-7 record.

The MVP said he could not just let go of the UAAP because it is his ultimate dream and plans to exhaust his eligibility next season, giving credit to his teammates and coach for this achievement.
