Ambo damages PH agri-fisheries at PHP960M

As of Thursday, the damage from Typhoon Ambo to agriculture and fisheries was estimated at PHP960.19 million, affecting 28,147 farmers and fisherfolk across various regions.

The DA reported a decrease in total losses compared to initial estimates due to updated reports from Calabarzon and Central Luzon on high-value crops and rice.

In Samar provinces alone, the damage was initially estimated at PHP7.13 million affecting 20 hectares of rice fields and 132 hectares of root crops.

Eastern Visayas reported a total loss of P1.14 billion as of May 18, with high-value crops suffering the most significant impact at 70 percent or P793.15 million.
