Travelers from Omicron-hit countries show no symptoms

The Bureau of Quarantine (BOQ) reported on Sunday that travelers from Omicron-affected countries like South Africa, Burkina Faso, and Egypt are still under quarantine with no signs of COVID-19 symptoms.

As of December 3, the DOH stated that 253 travelers had arrived in the Philippines from South Africa between November 15 to 29, including four foreign nationals.

Of these, three foreign nationals tested positive initially but later retested negative for RT-PCR tests.

BOQ is monitoring a total of 64 individuals who entered before travel restrictions were imposed on countries with Omicron cases.
