Transport groups plan nationwide strike over PUV deadline

Transport groups Manibela and Piston plan a nationwide strike from Monday, Dec 18 to Dec 29 to protest the government's December 31 deadline for public utility vehicle (PUV) consolidation.

Manibela president Mar Valbuena expressed hope that President Marcos would address their concerns before the week ends to avoid inconvenience for commuters.

Valbuena warned that the strike duration might be extended if demands are not met, while PISTON and MANIBELA argue that the government's PUV modernization program will cause significant disruptions.
