Transport groups plan nationwide strike before year-end

Transport groups are planning a nationwide strike before year-end due to frustrations with the government’s Public Utility Vehicle Modernization Program.

Manibela chairman Mar S. Valbuena said discussions are ongoing with other groups like PISTON to determine the dates for their joint action.

Following last week's separate strikes involving around 30,000 jeepney drivers in Metro Manila, many members of Manibela continue to refuse work due to lack of concrete answers from the government.
