Jeepney drivers protest phaseout during Marcos Jr.'s return

Jeepney drivers protested against the phaseout of traditional jeepneys on Tuesday as President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. returned from his US trip.

PISTON's national president Mody T. Floranda said they will continue protesting because the LTFRB failed to address their demands during a meeting on Monday.

Manibela announced a three-day strike starting Wednesday, potentially merging with PISTON’s ongoing protest action.

However, organized jeepney drivers and operators in various provinces largely ignored or rejected PISTON's call for a strike, citing potential disruption to services and community interests.
