DOH warns COVID-19 spread possible in evacuation centers

The Department of Health (DOH) is calling for safety monitoring in evacuation centers due to the risk of COVID-19 spread following Typhoon Ulysses.

Health Secretary Francisco Duque warned that transmission of the virus in these centers is a 'very strong possibility.'.

Duque advised local government units and emergency responders to observe minimum health standards, including having safety officers monitor for symptoms, maintaining 3-meter distance between evacuees, and ensuring proper ventilation.
