Rain or Shine cuts TNT lead to 3-2 in PBA semis

TNT secured a crucial 3-1 lead in the PBA Philippine Cup semifinals but Rain or Shine bounced back with two consecutive dominant wins, reducing the series deficit to 3-2.

Gian Mamuyac led Rain or Shine with 22 points and was named Best Player of the Game in their most recent victory, while Calvin Oftana scored 23 points for TNT despite nursing sprains in both ankles.

TNT played without Kelly Williams, RR Pogoy, Jayson Castro, and Rey Nambatac due to injuries, and head coach Chot Reyes did not coach as he served a one-game suspension for reaching five technical fouls in the conference.

Rain or Shine's depth and longer rotation were key factors in their victory, with nine players contributing points. Game 6 of the semifinals series will be played at Araneta Coliseum on Sunday, July 6, where Rain or Shine hopes to even the score further.
