Yeng Guiao hopes for Jayson Castro’s recovery as TNT takes 3-1 series lead

Rain or Shine head coach Yeng Guiao expressed hope for TNT veteran Jayson Castro's recovery while acknowledging the opportunity his absence has given his team.

Guiao emphasized Castro's stabilizing role, noting that before sustaining a ruptured patellar tendon, he averaged 18.5 points, 4.0 assists, 3.5 rebounds, and 2.0 steals in the semifinals series against Rain or Shine.

Without Castro, who may be out until next year due to a full thickness patellar tendon tear, TNT won Game 3 with a score of 103-98 but struggled enough for Rain or Shine to narrow the series deficit to 2-1.

In Game 4 on Wednesday, TNT took a commanding 3-1 lead over Rain or Shine at Araneta Coliseum, dedicating their victory to Castro and his significant impact on the team.

Coach Chot Reyes provided an update on Castro's surgery, confirming he will be out for approximately one year before returning to play.
