WHO: Logistical concerns, not supply issues, delay AstraZeneca vaccines

The delayed arrival of 525,600 doses of AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccines in the Philippines is due to logistical concerns rather than supply issues, according to WHO representative Dr. Rabindra Abeyasinghe.

Abeyasinghe clarified that while the consignments are ready, logistics handlers face challenges with cold chain requirements and global delivery processes.

Health Secretary Francisco Duque initially cited a WHO statement suggesting a one-week delay due to supply problems, but later information indicates logistical issues instead.
