Health officials get vaccinated to boost public confidence

Health workers and hospital officials across the country are getting vaccinated against COVID-19 to encourage others to do so.

Dr. Art Dela Peña, CEO of St. Luke's Medical Center, received a Sinovac vaccine shot on Wednesday after contracting and recovering from the virus himself.

Doctors at Cardinal Santos Medical Center, which treated the first local cases in the Philippines, also got vaccinated on Wednesday.

In Bacolod City, over 3,000 healthcare workers are set to receive Sinovac vaccines expected to arrive later this week.

Vaccine czar Carlito Galvez Jr. noted an increased demand for doses after prominent doctors received their shots, with a 'mini rollout' planned in several hospitals on Tuesday.
