St. Benilde advances to NCAA women's volleyball Finals with five-set win over Lyceum

College of St. Benilde secured another five-set victory over Lyceum on Sunday, maintaining their perfect record and advancing directly to the Finals of the NCAA Season 99 women's volleyball tournament.

The Lady Blazers extended their elimination round winning streak to nine games with this win, marking their 38th consecutive overall win dating back to their last two season sweeps and back-to-back crowns.

St. Benilde aims for a third straight championship sweep starting May 19, as coach Jerry Yee emphasized the team's determination to achieve their goal.

Gayle Pascual led St. Benilde with 21 points and critical kills in the fifth set, while Cloanne Mondonedo contributed despite an ankle injury.

Perpetual Help also secured a four-set win over Emilio Aguinaldo College, improving their standing to 5-4 and keeping their Final 4 hopes alive, with Louie Ramirez leading the Altas with 20 points.
