8 OFWs escape quarantine, 1 positive case located

Eight overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) escaped from a quarantine facility in Manila Bay over the weekend.

One of them, a 49-year-old male who tested positive for COVID-19, was located and is now under DOH custody.

The positive case will be arrested and charged once he recovers from the hospital.

Seven other escapees are still being searched for; they tested negative but have yet to be found.

Authorities are implementing medical protocols including isolation and swab testing for those who had contact with the escaped OFW.
