Galvez: Gov't prepares for possible second wave via returning OFWs

The government is preparing stringent health protocols to prevent an imported transmission of COVID-19 cases in the country.

Galvez, chief implementer of the National Action Plan against COVID-19, warned that a second wave of infections may come from repatriated overseas Filipino workers (OFWs), seafarers, and returning Filipinos arriving from affected areas such as the US, Italy, Spain, and parts of the Middle East.

More than 30,000 OFWs are expected to return from these regions, increasing the risk of imported transmission.
