Ambo weakens, Signal No. 1 remains over Batanes

Tropical Depression Ambo remains over Batanes and Babuyan Islands with Signal No. 1 still in effect.

Ambo is forecast to weaken into a low pressure area within the next 24 hours and exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Monday afternoon.

The tropical depression caused at least four deaths, displaced hundreds of thousands, and destroyed houses and downed power lines in Eastern Samar and Quezon province.

PAGASA warns that moderate to heavy rains are expected over Batanes while light to moderate with at times heavy rains will pour over Babuyan Islands.
