Pagasa warns of heavy rain, floods, landslides in 13 areas

Three weather systems—a shear line, easterlies, and northeast monsoon (Amihan)—will bring rain to most parts of the country on Sunday, according to Pagasa.

Quezon, Camarines Norte, Northern Samar, Caraga, Davao Region, Sarangani, South Cotabato, as well as Camarines Sur, Catanduanes, Albay, Sorsogon, Masbate, and other areas can expect moderate to heavy rainfall due to these weather systems.

Pagasa has issued warnings about potential localized flooding in urbanized, low-lying, and coastal areas, as well as the likelihood of landslides in susceptible regions due to the expected rain.

Heavy to intense rains are anticipated in Catanduanes from Sunday to Monday afternoon, with rainfall ranging from 100 to 200 millimeters, significantly increasing the risk of flooding events.

A gale warning is raised over some coastal areas where waves from 2.8 to 5.5 meters high are likely, including Camarines Norte, northern coast of Camarines Sur, north and eastern coasts of Catanduanes, east coast of Albay, east coast of Sorsogon, north and eastern coasts of Northern Samar, northeastern coast of Eastern Samar, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, western coast of Pangasinan, east coast of Cagayan, Isabela, northeastern coast of Aurora, and northern and eastern coasts of Polillo islands.
