Senators and Reps arrive for SONA ahead of Marcos' speech

Senators Bong Revilla, Mark Villar, Nancy Binay, Pia Cayetano, and Imee Marcos, Representative Lani Mercado-Revilla, Senator Sherwin Gatchalian with his girlfriend Bianca Manalo, and their spouses arrived at the Third Regular Session of the 19th Congress on Monday morning ahead of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.'s third State of the Nation Address (SONA).

Senator Imee Marcos wore a Moro armor-inspired dress and a golden crown while gracing the red carpet.

Senators Bong Revilla wore a classic barong, Rep. Lani Mercado-Revilla chose a pina fabric dress with pink and green floral details, Senator Nancy Binay opted for an ivory Filipiniana, Senator Mark Villar wore a classic Barong Tagalog, and Senator Pia Cayetano arrived in a black pleated Filipiniana dress by Mia Urquico.

Bianca Manalo graced the red carpet in an Ylang-Ylang-inspired Chartreuse silk terno designed by Jo Rubio, while Senator Sherwin Gatchalian donned a Piña Callado barong from the same designer.

President Marcos is scheduled to deliver his SONA at 4 p.m. on Monday afternoon at the Batasang Pambansa Complex in Quezon City, addressing issues such as the ongoing conflict with China in the West Philippine Sea.

Manila has lodged diplomatic protests against Beijing over territorial disputes, leading to bilateral meetings between officials from both countries to manage the situation.
