Marcos Jr. prepares for third SONA on July 22

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. is preparing for his third State of the Nation Address (SONA) scheduled for Monday, July 22.

Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez expressed confidence on Tuesday that all preparations are complete and highlighted the anticipation within the chamber for the president's address, emphasizing the role of the House in promoting welfare through legislation.

House Secretary General Reginald Velasco confirmed detailed medical protocols are established to handle any health emergencies during the SONA, with security arrangements involving multiple agencies in place.

Representative Joey Salceda expects the President to announce new big-ticket projects and measures to provide relief for areas affected by El Niño, while KABAYAN Party List Representative Ron Salo hopes for the protection of Overseas Filipino Workers' rights and immediate passage of the Magna Carta of Filipino Seafarers.

The Presidential Communications Office (PCO) stated on Wednesday that Marcos is 'on top' of finalizing his speech and will release a detailed report to thoroughly explain the contents of the SONA, with Radio Television Malacañang directing the event and a total budget of P20 million allocated for this year's SONA.

The House of Representatives has also banned Sona outfits with derogatory words or political messages.
