Senators push for special session on COVID-19 supplemental budget

Senator Bong Go and the Senate Minority bloc are pushing for a special session of Congress to approve a supplemental budget to address the COVID-19 outbreak.

The proposed budget aims to cover procurement of additional test kits, equipment like protective gear and hospital beds, relief goods, medicine, deployment of health personnel, and cash assistance for daily wage earners.

Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo assured that government still has sufficient funds available to combat the virus.
