Senators urge aid for marginalized during Luzon quarantine

Senators are urging government agencies and local executives to ensure that marginalized communities receive food and financial assistance during the Luzon-wide community quarantine.

Sonny Angara, a senator, called on the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) to use its quick response fund and budget for protective services to aid families affected by the quarantine.

Angara emphasized the need to provide basic requirements immediately to prevent people from resorting to desperate behavior.

Another senator urged the DSWD to collaborate with local government units (LGUs) to assist quarantined families, stressing that the government must ensure daily food supply for those in lockdown.
