Gatchalian presents receipts showing ex-mayor Alice Guo paid millions for POGO hub's electricity

On Monday, Senator Sherwin Gatchalian presented receipts showing that dismissed mayor Alice Guo paid millions of pesos for electricity bills at a raided POGO hub in Bamban, Tarlac, even during her tenure as mayor.

Gatchalian revealed specific dates and amounts Guo paid in cash or by check from an account under her own name, including payments of P5.4 million on September 11, 2022; P28 million on December 29, 2022; P3.4 million on January 4, 2023; and P5.3 million in January 2024.

The senator also disclosed that Guo used her businesses to directly pay for the electricity of the POGO hub using various companies under her name, such as QJJ Farm and QC Genetics.

Gatchalian presented documents showing payments from these companies to Tarelco, an electric cooperative in Tarlac province, including amounts like P1.3 million and P5 million in 2020-2022, and P6 million and P2.6 million in 2023.

While Guo repeatedly denied her ties with POGO operations, documents presented during hearings indicated that she actively participated by paying for the electricity of the POGO hub as mayor and president of QC Genetics.
