Sinovac assures PH of affordable COVID-19 vax price

Sinovac Biotech General Manager Helen Yang assured that the company will provide its COVID-19 vaccine to the Philippines at an affordable price.

Yang declined to disclose the exact cost but emphasized it is 'very good'.

Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque denied claims of high pricing, stating the deal with Sinovac is confidential.

Vaccine czar Carlito Galvez Jr. said a Senate hearing did not lead to lower prices for Sinovac vaccines and that price disclosure could jeopardize deals.

Roque cited vaccine czar Galvez's statement that the price offered to the Philippines by Sinovac is close to what Indonesia pays, around P650 per dose.
