Rondina helps Philippines secure bronze in AVC Challenge Cup

Sisi Rondina initially declined an offer from the Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF) to join Alas Pilipinas in the 2024 AVC Challenge Cup but later changed her mind, helping secure a historic bronze medal for the Philippines on Wednesday.

Rondina, who was recovering after a grueling campaign with Choco Mucho, expressed gratitude to the coaching staff and teammates for trusting her despite her initial decision to rest, emphasizing that representing her country was especially meaningful.

The 5-foot-6 outside hitter's performance was crucial as she scored 13 points in their bronze-medal match against Australia, including the game-winning attack, contributing significantly throughout the tournament.

Rondina acknowledged the support from true fans and supporters, saying it is a reward for her sacrifices despite initial doubts about her readiness.

After a historic indoor national team debut, Rondina is keen on continuing to represent the country but will take some time to rest before potentially skipping the upcoming FIVB Challenger Cup.
