Sara: Dad in good spirits at ICC, next hearing on Sept 23

Vice President Sara Duterte stated on Wednesday, March 19 (Manila time), that her father, former President Rodrigo Duterte, remains in the clinic at the International Criminal Court (ICC) detention facility in The Hague while awaiting trial for crimes against humanity related to his administration's bloody drug war campaign.

Doctors have not released him and are monitoring his health with his medical records; she described the place as hotel-like but detainees do not interact due to individual rooms.

Former President Duterte, who has been in detention since last week, is adjusting well inside and maintains a friendly rapport with staff despite requesting that family members refrain from visiting unless they wish to join him there.

He expressed no regret over his service to the country but feels he has little else to do outside.

His next hearing is set for September 23.
