Robredo considers VP reelection for 2022 unity

Vice President Leni Robredo is considering running for another term as vice president in 2022 if it aids unity among opposition parties.

Robredo's spokesperson Barry Gutierrez confirmed that seeking reelection remains an option to ensure a united front against the ruling party.

Liberal Party (LP) President Francis Pangilinan said during a meeting with LP members and Robredo’s close advisers that running for VP again is part of ongoing unity talks.

Pangilinan emphasized that multiple candidates cannot run simultaneously, so discussions include finding ways to unify behind one candidate.
