TNT wins fifth straight but coach warns of Ginebra challenge

TNT Tropang Giga won their fifth consecutive game in the PBA Commissioner's Cup by defeating NLEX 94-87 on Wednesday, but head coach Chot Reyes warned that they need to improve significantly ahead of a crucial match against Barangay Ginebra on Friday.

Reyes emphasized that TNT must play better than they did against NLEX as Ginebra has recently upgraded their roster with Troy Rosario and Jamie Malonzo, making them a formidable opponent.

Despite trailing by nine points in the third quarter, TNT rallied with contributions from Rondae Hollis-Jefferson (23 points), Roger Pogoy (18 points), and Calvin Oftana (14 points) to secure victory over NLEX.

TNT's import Mike Watkins recorded a double-double of 33 points and 20 rebounds, but the team struggled overall with a shooting percentage of just 37.9% from the field and 54% from the free-throw line.

Blackwater ended their four-game losing streak with a 96-86 victory over Terrafirma, keeping them in playoff contention for the PBA Commissioner's Cup.
