Red Cross to open labs for Covid-19 testing

The Philippine Red Cross is set to open biomolecular laboratories for Covid-19 testing in Subic and Cebu City.

In Subic, the laboratory is supported by donors and the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority and aims to prevent further spread of the virus.

Senator Richard Gordon, PRC chairman, emphasized the importance of testing to unmask and control the virus's spread.

A separate lab in Cebu City will be funded by a P15-million donation from Security Bank Foundation at the PRC headquarters along Osmena Boulevard.

As of May 14, over 1,700 cases of COVID-19 were reported in Central Visayas, highlighting the need for increased testing capacity.
