Gov targets to clear 7k test backlog in 2 weeks

The government aims to clear a backlog of around 7,000 unprocessed COVID-19 test results within two weeks.

Private laboratories have agreed to help process these backlogs and automate testing to increase capacity by 80 percent.

As of May 10, the country's daily testing capacity increased to 14,500 tests with actual daily testing at around 8,700.

The Philippines finally met its goal of conducting 8,000 COVID-19 tests per day on Sunday, ten days after the initial target date.
