Recto takes over as Finance Sec from Diokno

Former Finance Secretary Benjamin Diokno officially handed over leadership of the Department of Finance (DOF) to newly appointed Finance Secretary Ralph Recto in a ceremony on Monday at the DOF office in Manila.

Diokno praised Recto for his experience and contributions to economic reforms, highlighting his role in transforming the economy and reigniting growth potential.

Recto thanked Diokno for his service and expressed confidence in continuing to contribute to national welfare as a monetary board member of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas.

He emphasized the importance of working with a skilled team within the DOF, its attached agencies, and bureaus to address current and future challenges.

Recto committed to realizing the President's vision through increased effort, dedication, rethinking governance approaches, and innovating policies, while also retaining key undersecretaries and designating Maria Luwalhati C. Dorotan-Tiuseco as his chief of staff.

Following the ceremony, Recto began a series of briefings with heads of DOF offices and is scheduled for further meetings with attached agencies and bureaus throughout the week.
