Recto appointed new Finance Sec, takes oath Fri

Senate Minority Leader Aquilino Pimentel III congratulated Recto on the appointment, describing it as well-deserved despite the challenges ahead.

Former Senate colleagues also expressed their support for Recto, noting his extensive legislative experience and previous roles such as NEDA chief and chair of the Ways and Means committee.

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has appointed Recto to succeed Benjamin Diokno as Finance Secretary, with an oath-taking ceremony scheduled for Friday.
