Apollo Quiboloy arrested at KJC compound

On Sunday, fugitive televangelist Apollo Quiboloy was apprehended at his Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KJC) compound in Davao City and is now held at the Philippine National Police (PNP) custodial center in Quezon City.

Over 2000 police officers conducted a massive search operation on August 24 but failed to capture Quiboloy who had been evading arrest since April when warrants of arrest were issued against him.

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr confirmed that during negotiations, Quiboloy requested for the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) presence at his arrest due to distrust in police.

Despite this, he was ultimately brought to PNP Custodial Center following orders from General Marbil and SILG (Secretary of Interior and Local Government).

Legal team seeks transfer custody over him to military or house arrest citing security reasons but it's unlikely granted as Bureau of Jail Management and Penology is the proper agency.
