Quiboloy remains detained in Pasig despite Quezon City order

Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) leader Apollo Quiboloy and his four co-accused will remain detained at the Philippine National Police (PNP) Custodial Center due to a separate court order from Pasig City Regional Trial Court Branch 159.

The Quezon City Regional Trial Court Branch 106, which handles child sexual abuse charges against Quiboloy and his co-accused, ordered their transfer to the Quezon City Jail but this was overruled by the Pasig court's non-bailable order.

Philippine National Police spokesperson Col. Jean Fajardo stated that the PNP Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) will submit a report to the Quezon City court about the Pasig court's retention of custody order, as transferring them poses a risk due to their non-bailable status.

Quiboloy and his co-accused are facing qualified human trafficking charges in Pasig and child sexual abuse charges in Quezon City, with conflicting arraignment schedules on September 13; the CIDG is considering using video conferencing for the Quezon City court's proceedings.

The AFP stated it would comply with any court decisions regarding Quiboloy’s case, emphasizing support for law enforcement agencies and upholding due process and justice.
