QC ordinance mandates daily allowance for vaccine site volunteers

Quezon City government signed an ordinance on Thursday mandating daily allowances for volunteer health workers at vaccination sites.

The allowance will cover transportation, food, and other necessities for the volunteers.

Mayor Joy Belmonte stated that these services are crucial due to the shortage of medical staff needed for vaccinations.

Ordinance No. SP-3024/3204 grants a maximum daily allowance of PHP2,500, though this amount may vary based on professional qualifications.

The city aims to vaccinate at least 1.6 million residents out of an estimated 2.9 million population.
