Positivity rate drops in Metro Manila but rises in seven provinces

The coronavirus positivity rate has decreased in Metro Manila but increased in several provinces, according to OCTA Research.

As of October 11, Metro Manila's positivity rate dropped to 15% from 17.9%, while seven provinces had a 'very high' positivity rate: Camarines Sur (46.2%), Cavite (22.6%), Laguna (22.2%), Rizal (21.2%), South Cotabato (26.2%), Tarlac (51.8%), and Zambales (33.6%).

OCTA fellow Dr. Guido David noted that the decrease in positivity rate in Metro Manila indicates a potential reduction in cases, though he urged for continued vigilance.

The seven-day positivity rate in NCR further dropped to 17.3% as of October 10 from 19% on October 3, with the reproduction number down to 0.93 and healthcare utilization rate at 37%.
