DOH logs 2,562 new COVID-19 cases; active infections rise to 26,380

The Department of Health (DOH) reported 2,562 new COVID-19 cases on Thursday, the highest in five days.

This raised the total number of active infections to 26,380 from Wednesday's count of 25,733.

The cumulative case tally now stands at 3,961,341 with recoveries reaching 3,871,820 and deaths increasing to 63,149.

Metro Manila continues to lead in cases over the last two weeks with 13,582 infections, followed by Calabarzon (5,523) and Central Luzon (2,886).

Quezon City has the highest number of individual area cases at 3,385, followed by Cavite (1,880) and Rizal (1,693).
