PNVF unveils 'Alas Pilipinas' for national volleyball teams

The Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF) and main sponsor Cignal unveiled 'Alas Pilipinas' as the new name for both men's and women's national volleyball teams during a press launch at the Cignal Executive Center in Mandaluyong on Wednesday.

PNVF president Ramon Suzara announced that PVL and UAAP stars will compete under this new brand, with the women's team set to debut at the AVC Challenge Cup from May 22 to 29 at Rizal Memorial Coliseum.

Notable players include Sisi Rondina, Eya Laure, Vanie Gandler, Angel Canino, Casiey Dongallo, Bella Belen, Jia De Guzman, Dawn Catindig, Thea Gagate, Faith Nisperos, Fifi Sharma, Cherry Nunag, Dell Palomata, Jen Nierva, and Julia Coronel.

The PNVF is hopeful that National University's Bella Belen and Alyssa Solomon will join the national team after their college finals.

For the men's team, Marck Espejo and Bryan Bagunas are committed players who will compete in the AVC Challenge Cup from June 2 to 9 in Bahrain.
