La Salle trio joins national volleyball team for AVC Championship

The La Salle trio of Thea Gagate, Angel Canino, and Julia Coronel are excited to join Jia de Guzman in the national women's volleyball team for the upcoming Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) Championship from May 22 to 29.

Canino praised De Guzman’s maturity and leadership, expressing excitement about learning from her veteran teammate, while Gagate looks forward to improving alongside seasoned pros like Dongallo, Belen, and Solomon.

Coronel is thrilled to work with De Guzman again as she did in high school and relishes the opportunity to learn from other veterans such as Eya Laure, Sisi Rondina, Vanie Gandler, Dawn Catindig, Cherry Nunag, Dell Palomata, Fifi Sharma, Jen Nierva, and Faith Nisperos.

The team aims to compete internationally and improve through exposure to international competition, with De Guzman noting the eagerness of all players to represent the country despite limited preparation time.
