PNP vows to combat VAWC during pandemic

The Philippine National Police (PNP) Women and Children Protection Center (WCPC) continues its efforts to combat violence against women and children during the pandemic.

Since the start of community quarantine measures, WCPC has conducted 5,049 investigations, made 3,628 arrests, and initiated 3,462 inquest proceedings.

In response to reports that some Women and Children Protection Desks were unable to address complaints due to the pandemic, Brig. Gen. Alessandro Abella issued a directive reminding all WCPDs to investigate complaints thoroughly and assist victims safely.
