PNP COVID-19 cases reach 499, lab in Visayas eyed

As of Sunday, June 21, the number of Philippine National Police (PNP) personnel with confirmed COVID-19 cases has risen to 499.

Among these, 288 have recovered and eight have died; there are also 661 probable cases and 875 suspected cases.

The PNP is fast-tracking the establishment of an RT-PCR testing laboratory in Central Visayas to ensure quick testing for police front-liners.

PNP Chief General Archie Gamboa emphasized that having their own testing facilities will protect both officers and the public better.
