PNP mulls downgrade of full alert status under GCQ

The Philippine National Police (PNP) is considering downgrading its full alert status as the country transitions to a more relaxed general community quarantine (GCQ) due to the coronavirus pandemic.

PNP chief Gen. Archie Gamboa stated that while the full alert status has not yet been downgraded, an assessment will be conducted in the coming days to determine if it is necessary.

Full alert status was declared in Luzon and other regions since March because of the threat posed by COVID-19.
